The rumoured death of Dr. Olusola Saraki is untrue, the Special Adviser to Kwara State Governor on Media and Strategies, Raheem Adedoyin, has said.
He added that the second Republic Senate leader is “alive and kicking.”
Rumours of the politician’s demise were rife on Tuesday within and outside the state.
According to reports, the 79-year old father of the immediate past governor of the state, Bukola, has been battling old age-related ailments for several months.
Adedoyin, who is a member of Saraki's political camp in a text message, denounced the rumour, saying the politician is “not only alive but also enjoying his vacation in the United States of America.”
His words: "Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki is very much alive, kicking well here in the United States where he has been on vacation.”
Senator Bukola Saraki's media aide, Bamikole Omishore, also confirmed that the medical doctor-turned politician is alive.
The message he posted on Facebook, reads: "Long live baba Saraki."
